What is a Zaphir chime made of?
The Zaphir's resonance tube is made of long-fibre celluloid, shaped according to the principles of the Golden Ratio. Inside, eight chime bars are welded with silver to a metal plate. The materials are mostly recyclable and finished with an environmentally-friendly coating. Handcrafted in France, at the foot of the Pyrenees.
Can a Zaphir chime be hung outside?
Zaphir chimes are designed as wind chimes and can be hung in a sheltered outdoor spot, by a window, or on a chime stand. Moisture can change its appearance over time, so it's best to hang it somewhere protected.
How is Zaphir different from Koshi?
The Zaphir is tuned to the seasons and has a resonance tube of long-fibre celluloid in the colorful Shanti design. The Koshi is tuned to the four elements and has a bamboo resonance chamber. The Zaphir has a longer inner cord and a larger wind catcher, so it responds to lighter breezes and suits calmer spots well. Both are handmade in France and have eight chime bars.
